Citizen for Responsible and Appropriate
Development in Lisle (Illinois)

February 2, 2001

As you may have seen in the media this week, our case regarding the restraining order on Meijer is going to be heard by the Illinois Supreme Court. Our belief is that  the case is being heard because this case is important and effects all the state's residents. As in the lower court and the appellate court, we feel we have a good case and that we will prevail. We are about to be responsible for setting state law. Remember when you were a kid in civics class? Did you ever really believe that you could make a difference. WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. You are making this possible.

FYI the Supreme Court decision probably won't be made before the Fall, just to give you a timeframe.

Making a difference in the world still carries a price. It require much effort and more money. Our car raffle last year was very successful, so we are having another one this year. The tickets are $100 each and there are 400 tickets. The car is a 2001 Pontiac Grand AM 4 door sedan. You also have the option of taking $20,000 instead. If less than 400 tickets are sold the winner will receive half the money received from sale of tickets.

Once again you can order your tickets through me via e-mail or buy them from your neighborhood CRADL raffle seller if you prefer. There is no prize given to the person who sells the most tickets, so I don't care who you buy your ticket from, as long as you buy tickets. On the other hand, last year's winning ticket was sold by me via e-mail. I will deliver your raffle ticket to your door.

When is the winning raffle ticket picked, Joel? I'm glad you asked. There will be a CRADL fund raiser at Carriage Greens Country Club, Darien on April 6 at 7:30. The cost of admission is $25 per person. You don't have to be there to win, but all those who attended last year had a great time. Hors D'ouevres will be served and there is a cash bar. We will again have a silent auction which kept everyone hopping last year. Karl gates of Gates Appraisals will also be there for the Antiques Sideshow. He will appraise antiques at $10 each. Remember we are raising money for a very important cause. Every dollar is appreciated and well spent. A good time will be had by all.

My e-mail line is open. Let the buying begin.
